| June 05 - Goodbye Locale, Goodbye Star Shoes |
Celebrating the end of Locale Tuesdays after a six-month
run of free multimedia performances in the heart of Hollywood.
Rock n Roll capital of the world has never seen such diligent
support for a weekly electronic music series; and the movie capital
of the world has never seen such grand original and live visuals,
projected on multiple walls throughout the venue. Thank you everyone
for making this momorable series happen.
The legendary Hollywood nightclub Star Shoes will be closing
its doors for good in July, handing the space over to new owners
for a new future. We salute the owners for providing a sweet n
soulful space for our evening, and many other evenings that will
never be forgotten by residents and visitors alike.
Come support our closing evening, with entertainment provided
by Locale Tuesdays residents that never let you down and always
make you dance! :)
Brasswork
Agency [Auxprocess / Plex Records]
His style has been dubbed "future house," by
his publishing label Plex Records of Paris France. His releases
have also been labeled from ambient and techno, to electro and
instrumental for music on projects ranging from orchestras to
video games. He seems to have no interest in sticking with any
single genre, but his specialty will always be making a crowd
shake their ass. Brasswork Agency can be found in on wicked underground
bills with artists like Pheek, Eliot Lipp, and [a]pendics.shuffle.
Kimchee Love [Militantsexcouncil / Bitches on the Switches]
Kimchee Love is the combined forces of Athena
of Militantsexcouncil & Bootymachine, and Eva
of Bitches on the Switches and a member of the Project Mayhem
crew in Florida. These bulgogi bassriders have carved out a niche
all their own with their selection of dark brainmelting electro
and nasty breaks.
Nalepa [Native
State]
Also our resident VJ, Nalepa comes ready to bang out
brilliantly dense and refreshingly melodic IDM. Based in Los Angeles,
Nalepa has collaborated with world-renowned artists from across
the musical spectrum including producer Bill Laswell, saxophonist
Pharoah Sanders, Chinese classical musicians Bin He and Jiangli
Yu, and many more. His imaginative and intimate track Porcelain
was published in 2006 by Bluetech's label Native State on the
Beneath the Surface Compilation with artists like Rena
Jones, David Last, and Bluetech himself. His upcoming Audio/Video
DVD album Flatlands includes music videos by premier
international video artists as well as his own produced video.
You'll also see his name popping up on a handful of upcoming releases
and select compilations.
