| February 06 : Auxprocess Release Party |
CELEBRATING THE RELEASE OF BRASSWORK AGENCY "Shostakovich
Remixes" !!
Maximum 50 [Chicago
: Mathematics / Auxprocess / WNUR]
Chicago-based m50 lands in Los Angeles on the heels of a well-received
remix of Chicago acid-house icon Steve Poindexter on Mathematics
recordings and a remix of Andrew Duke released alongside top-notch,
cutting-edge productions by artists like NAW, Tomas Jirku and
Hrdvsion. His bold mixing style (featured on Auxprocess'
first compilation) drifts seamlessly between minimal house, IDM,
ambient and glitch. With additional tourdates set in Portland,
Boston, Chicago and San Francisco and a history of playing alongside
international talent like Mouse On Mars, Ellen Allien, Apparat
and Superpitcher, he continues to challenge listeners and inspire
dancefloors, one party at a time.
Brasswork
Agency [Auxprocess / Plex Records]
The first week of every month Locale host and resident DJ Brasswork
takes the late slot. His DJ sets of deep and funky techno are
laced with original tracks. Brasswork Agency can be found on bills
with MachineDrum, Pheek, Wolf+Lamb, and The Flashbulb, and pushes
electronic music forward with his netlabel Auxprocess.
Kimchee Love [Militantsexcouncil / Bitches on the Switches]
Kimchee Love is the combined forces of Athena
of Militantsexcouncil & Bootymachine, and Eva
of Bitches on the Switches and a member of the Project Mayhem
crew in Florida. These bulgogi bassriders have carved out a niche
all their own with their selection of dark brainmelting electro
and nasty breaks.
Philthy Choreo
Expect an indredible and unpredictable takeover of the event by
this performance group who also performed LocTues with Derek Michael
on January 23. This will be a whole new show than last
time, so come ready for anything!

Glitch Mob [Los Angeles / San Francisco : RD + edIT + Boreta +
Kraddy]
This time The Glitch Mob comes out swinging with LA hardhitters
RD and edIT, with Boreta
and Kraddy flying in from SanFran! These boys
have been straight tearing up America's underground circuit with
their crunked-out glitch-injected hip-hop. It will no doubt be
a slammin dance party with everyone on their feet, check the photos
from last time!
Nalepa [Native
State] + Nalepa's birthday party!
Also our resident VJ, Nalepa comes ready to bang out
brilliantly dense and refreshingly melodic IDM. Based in Los Angeles,
Nalepa has collaborated with world-renowned artists from across
the musical spectrum including producer Bill Laswell, saxophonist
Pharoah Sanders, Chinese classical musicians Bin He and Jiangli
Yu, and many more. His imaginative and intimate track Porcelain
was published in 2006 by Bluetech's label Native State on the
Beneath the Surface Compilation with artists like Rena
Jones, David Last, and Bluetech himself. His upcoming Audio/Video
DVD album Flatlands includes music videos by premier
international video artists as well as his own produced video.
You'll also see his name popping up on a handful of upcoming releases
and select compilations. Don't miss his live birthday set!

Allen

Star Shoes for a Complete Visual Takeover. He will be running
more projectors than you can count, 16mm and video, playing extremely
obscure videos that he collects from unique sources around the
country, all sync'd to the sickest music of our evening lineup.
He is also installing two of his invented Eyeonaspheres!!
Live painting by Norton
Wisdom
Known best for his kind soul, Norton Wisdom's classic
live painting shows have shared stages with even The Doors.
